Tammy said...

Yes, I would love some free stevia! I also have a quick question: is the 5 pound deal the same stevia you were getting in the smaller bottles? Is it just as concentrated? I've been waiting to find out before I order some. Thanks!

Jen said...

I use stevia in my coffee every morning. I'm getting low, and would love some free stevia. :)

Congrats on your Stevia package...that's amazing! I would love to give it a try. I need to go back on Atkins to lose weight again. I would love to try your free extra. Once I get all set up on my new PC, I will become a google follower.

I follow your RSS feed and would like some stevia. I have recently started using stevia in my coffee, but would love to start baking with it!

Emily said...

Tammy, it is the same concentration as the little lubs, an AMAZING deal.

*tubs, not lubs. (:

Side note: I love the Atkins diet. If your parents are following the Atkins diet properly, they should be eating a ton of vegetables. Not starchy potatoes and corn but all sorts of leafy greens as well as a plethora of other vegetables. You should never try stay in Induction forever becuase eating less than 20 carbs per day for life is unsafe. They should go back and reread the plan and incorporate more vegetables into their lifestyle.

We love Stevia.

Just wanted to make sure that you were aware that the federal government passed new legislation that said that if you receive products to review for your blog that you must disclose that to your readers, which you've done, so kudos to you. I like reading your blog and know your ethics are very high and that you wouldn't let "free" things influence your reviews, but not everyone is like that.

Food Coma said...

I would like to try that Stevia!

Food Coma said...

I follow you!

Natballs said...

I'm already a follower... and I would like to try that Stevia!

vm said...

I have no interest in winning the product but I do want to know if you'll be blogging about the cost of shipping to the winner. ;)

hekates said...

I am already a follower and love stevia!

Emily said...

Anon, I didn't know that; I'll keep that in mind in case anyone else sends me free stuff.

vm, the retail value of what I got was over $120 (of course I did the math), so the shipping cost is a fair trade-off, even if an international reader wins. (:

I've tried it a few times and REALLY want to like it...maybe trying this brand would be the secret? I've tried it in coffee and tea and I've just not had any luck with it. I want free Stevia!

yay free stevia! Thanks!

Clisby said...

If you google "FTC blog endorsements" you'll find information on the new regulations - I think they went into effect in early Oct. I think you're only *required* to divulge that you got free stuff if you give it a good review - that is, if you get free stevia and write about how awful it is, it's not clear to me that the new regulation applies to you.

Lori said...

I definitely want free stevia. I buy the liquid and whole leaf, but I would love to try the powder.

I've been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first time commenting. My husband commented once though - he is the one who used to eat papier mache (when a kid - at least I hope) and commented on your homemade pasta post.

You ought take the giant tubs of stevia (both or one), and divide them into smaller portions. I don't know what you would package them into.. If they're in packets, then tie a ribbon around them? But, giving your mom/stepmom a ton of something they may not like might be wasteful. I have a jar of Stevia, I use it for me tea only, and recently some cornbread, I think I've had it two months and used a total of a teaspoon, if that. So, anyway, you can make little sample packs of it to give away at Christmas with fudge and whatnot. You can be an enlightenment fairy of a sort.
I am n o t posting for free stevia, since I have that big tub. I do follow your blog. Honestly, sometimes I think you're a little crazy, but it makes for interesting reading all the time.

Anonymous said...

Emily,
I would love to try Stevia. Your blog is the first place I ever heard of it and I promptly googled it and learned more. I saw some at my grocery store but it was about $15 and I don't have any idea how to use it. I'd love to get some for free and be able to try it without feeling like I might be wasting $15 :)
I am not a follower but I do check your blog EVERY DAY to see your latest post.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I TOTALLY want to win some stevia. The last stevia I bought made me gag, but I don't think it was the right kind, exactly (like the time I tried to buy arnica gel but ended up with arnica to be taken internally--um, no), so I've been wanting to try it again without actually having to pay for something that made me gag last time.

Fellow Stevia lover here...
FWIW, I found 9.73 ounces for (I believe), $7.99 at Trader Joes. Their Trader Darwin's Stevia is great too, no aftertaste like certain brands (::cough::Now Foods::Cough Cough::).
